In an ice filled glass combine vodka, sweet and sour, melon liqueur and lime juice. Shake well. Strain mix into garnished glass and top with lemon lime soda. Add a cherry. Tools Collins Glass. Basic Bar Tools. Easy to make. Very sweet and easy to drink. Should get you plastered with a minimum of effort or expense. It will, however, turn your tongue blue. Long Islands are good, but pretty expensive. My favorites are Amaretto Sours and Midori Sours.
Very simple, and very awesome, but they won't get you drunk if that's what you're looking for. Or at least, they don't do it for me very well. Whiskey sours are made the same way, though they don't taste as good. They'll probably do better in the "just getting drunk" department though. Red Bull and vodka is easy to make too, as are screwdrivers.
Not bad, but not as good as sours. There's lots of good margaritas out there as well, they're harder to make though. And of course the classic strawberry daquaris and pina colodas. I don't know why, but when you do, it's disgusting.
As you noted a Paralyzer has cola in it, a White Russian most certinly does not. The order of ingredientes does matter in a Paralyzer as if you do it wrong as noted the milk will curdal and it'll taste gross. A couple good variations on the Paralyzer is to use Root Beer or Tequila. Long Islands are good. So are screwdrivers.
Rum and 7-Up But who needs that stuff. Tequila shots! SoCo is like a mixed drink by itself. On the occasions I mixed it with anything, it was how you'd normally mix, say, a rum and coke I still love the stuff, but I stay away because I know how shitfaced it gets me.
Hard Alcohol Drinks Crazy Ivan! It also has a very strong, distinctive smell. When mixed with Coke, it's real lolly-water. It doesn't taste terribly alcoholic, and it's easy to drink. Because it's so sweat, it appeals to young, inexperienced drinkers. They inevitably drink too much of it. And get sick. And throw up. After throwing up on Southern and Coke, many people will thereafter start to feel nausious even being in the same room as a Southern and Coke.
Most will never touch the stuff again. So, a good beginner "hard" though, it's definately at the soft end of hard drink is Southern and coke. You'll probably enjoy the first few, and will most likely entertain your friends with your drunken antics, and will eventually move on to more adult drinks or be permanently fixated at the Beam and Coke stage , as it should be.
I find that explanation hits far too close too home. It was good for one night, but a week later, I got nauseated even smelling it. I've always mainatained that the Alabama Slammer is an excellent "beginner" hard alcohol drink, though lots of people think it's a girly drink. Not entirely sure of the ingredients but I think its got amaretto, vodka, southern comfort, grenadine, cranberry juice and orange juice.
They're not for the newbie drinker, straight Kahlua rarely goes down smooth. The first phrase I learned in Spanish was "Russo Negro, pro favor". I was just learning to drink properly when we were in Mexico. When you're 19, that's heaven. Step away from the sweet drinks. It's the sugar that will kill you. Although I tend to be a straight liquor drinker, most bar brands suck, so I've learned to like some mixed drinks.
I have also learned that Long Island Iced tea can be made "bulk" in five gallon food grade pails, but that's another story. There's enough sweetness and acidity in the juice to cut the whiskey without turning it into a kiddie drink. Bloody Ceasar. It's a drink, it's a meal. Tequila is not for beginners. Vodka goes in any fruit juice, and you can mix almost anything with Coke or ginger ale except vodka. Martini style cocktails are making a comeback, and there are some very good ones out there. They are an artform, a touch of class in a world of over-wrought, fru-fru, kiddie drinks.
Women like them, but men can drink them without being called names. Learn to make them well and you will get dates, no matter what your gender of preference.
